UFC 319 Full Card Breakdown & Predictions

Aug 14, 2025

Overview

Another stacked card with violence written all over it. Here’s the full breakdown of UFC 319, every matchup, every angle, and where the value lies 👇

Karine Silva vs Dione Barbosa

This is a well-matched fight between two dangerous grapplers. Karine Silva has had a full camp, while Dione Barbosa is stepping in on short notice. That alone leans this slightly in Silva’s favor. Both women thrive on the ground, Dione might be the better wrestler, but Silva is the more dangerous submission threat. On the feet, expect a close affair with neither fighter having a huge edge. Ultimately, the prep time and Silva’s ability to capitalize on mistakes should give her the edge in a fight that likely goes the distance.

Pick: Karine Silva (by Decision)

Nursulton Ruziboev vs Bryan Battle

Bryan Battle is smart and gritty, but striking in space with Nursulton Ruziboev is not a winning game plan. Ruziboev is elusive, long, and unpredictable with his movement and setups. Battle’s clearest path is to push him against the cage and grind out control time, but Ruziboev should be fluid enough to keep it in space and land the more damaging shots. This is a close fight between two durable athletes, but Ruziboev's movement and striking variety should edge him ahead.

Pick: Nursulton Ruziboev (by Decision)

Edson Barboza vs Drakkar Klose

This matchup is about aging legends and styles. Edson Barboza is clearly the more polished striker, even at this stage of his career. Drakkar Klose will look to pressure and wrestle, but Barboza’s takedown defense is solid enough to keep it upright. In a striking battle, Barboza has the volume, speed, and finishing potential. Klose doesn't have the power to make Edson respect him, and Barboza should be able to win rounds on the outside.

Pick: Edson Barboza (by Decision)

Alexander Hernandez vs Chase Hooper

Chase Hooper is making huge strides with every fight. While Hernandez is a well-rounded opponent who could make this tricky, Chase’s jiu-jitsu remains elite. If he gets Hernandez down, it’s going to be a long round or a short fight. On the feet, Chase still eats shots due to lacking head movement, and Hernandez has power, but Chase’s improvements, pressure, and submission threat make him the side to pick.

Pick: Chase Hooper (by Submission)

Jessica Andrade vs Lupita Godinez

Jessica Andrade still has power and experience, but she’s been on a sharp decline. Lupita Godinez is the more complete fighter now, better boxing, better shot selection, and a clear edge in cardio. Andrade might land something big, but if Lupita sticks to a volume-heavy game and mixes in takedowns, she can take a decision here. Power is always dangerous in women's MMA, but the smarter, more technical fighter wins this one more often.

Pick: Lupita Godinez (by Decision)

Gerald Meerschaert vs Michal Oleksiejczuk

This fight likely ends inside the distance. Michal Oleksiejczuk is aggressive and powerful, especially early. That’s dangerous for Meerschaert, who has a shaky chin but elite submission skills. The blueprint is simple: avoid the bomb, drag Michal down, and snatch the neck. With Michal’s history of getting subbed (6 of 9 losses), GM3 only needs one opportunity.

Pick: Gerald Meerschaert (by Submission)

Bobby Green vs Diego Ferreira

This fight is going to be a war. Diego Ferreira can weaponize wrestling, but he gasses hard when he can’t get the takedowns. Bobby Green’s takedown defense should hold up, and if this stays on the feet, he’ll be the faster, more accurate striker. Ferreira will throw big looping shots, but Green will chip away and take over as the fight goes on. Sketchy chin for both, but Green's volume and cardio give him the edge.

Pick: Bobby Green (Sketchy Pick)

Tim Elliott vs Kai Asakura

Kai Asakura got thrown into the deep end with his debut, and now he gets a more manageable test. Tim Elliott is awkward and relentless with his wrestling, but Asakura is explosive, sharp, and will have the striking edge. If he can stop the takedowns, he wins, and this is the perfect step-down spot for him to shine. Expect Kai to keep it standing and rack up damage.

Pick: Kai Asakura (Late Knockout)

Jared Cannonier vs Michael Page

Jared Cannonier has a puncher’s chance and might be able to bully MVP up against the cage, but that’s his only path. Michael Page is levels above in pure striking and will have a major speed advantage. Unless Cannonier can trap him early and rack up control time, MVP is going to dance around him and land at will. Page won’t make this a brawl, and in space, he’s untouchable.

Pick: Michael Page (by Decision)

Geoff Neal vs Carlos Prates

Carlos Prates is the type of fighter who doesn’t need to win every moment, he just needs one. Geoff Neal will have success early in boxing range, but that’s also where Prates is most dangerous. Ian Garry was a much more well-rounded test. Prates will get out-volumed, but eventually, he’ll land the kill shot.

Pick: Carlos Prates (by KO, Round 2)

Lerone Murphy vs Aaron Pico

Lerone Murphy being a +160 underdog is wild. He’s undefeated, UFC-tested, and a clean technical striker. Pico is explosive but reckless, he’ll blitz in and eat damage trying to close distance. If this stays on the feet, Murphy chips him up. Even if Pico wrestles, I don’t see him controlling Lerone for long. Excellent underdog value here.

Pick: Lerone Murphy (Straight Up)

Dricus Du Plessis vs Khamzat Chimaev

This is a fascinating fight with massive implications. Khamzat has the scariest first round in MMA, his early pressure, wrestling, and ground control can overwhelm almost anyone. DDP is tough and strong, and if he survives the onslaught, he can start to test Khamzat’s gas tank and composure. But based on Khamzat’s history, it’s hard to go against him when he’s fresh. I think he storms DDP early and finds a finish, but if it goes late, it gets dicey.

Pick: Khamzat Chimaev (Inside the Distance)
